Room to think.

Reconsidering how we work, learn, and use technology.

The pressure to move faster is everywhere. The need to think well hasn’t gone away.

My work spans learning, technology, organizations, and culture. I use research, writing, and strategy to make sense of what is changing, what matters, and what deserves a second look.

I’m a researcher, writer, strategist, and educator.

My career has taken me through higher education, learning and technology organizations, qualitative research, executive communications, and, more recently, to the evaluation of AI systems.

Across those settings, I keep returning to the same questions: How do people make sense of complexity? How do ideas shape decisions? What helps us think—and learn—well?

  • "Nancy is a deeply skilled and compassionate coach."

“Nancy is a deeply skilled and compassionate coach. She guided me through an incredibly difficult transition in my life when I couldn’t imagine a way forward. Week after week, she took me to a slow, quiet, deep intuitive place where I sorted things through, far from the noise. I got in touch with what I really wanted and what was most essential to me while building tools for self-compassion, which I had avoided for years. Nancy often joked that I was going “Full Rob,” but this is in essence what she gave me.” — Rob Sockett, client
